Residential Services

There are two types of residential service provided. In one scenario the property is owned or leased by the agency and licensed to operate by the department of Children and Families. Their operation is the sole responsibility of Manasota ARC. In the other, known as Supported Living, the residence is leased by the individuals. The Agency provides billable services through a Supported Living Coach who is the facilitator of the program.

The goal of both programs is to promote home environments with emphasis on encouraging individual choice, self-determination, independence, and community inclusion opportunities. Through the support and program planning processes, skill acquisition programs are developed to assist individuals in attaining their personal outcomes. They may target independence in self-help, personal hygiene, meal planning and preparation, housekeeping and home safety, financial management, and interpersonal relationship building.

On January 1, 2003 Manasota ARC assumed responsibility for six existing group homes serving 40 individuals and making it the largest community provider of Residential Services in Manatee County. All sites have received both initial and annual re-licensures by the Department of Children and Families.

Manasota ARC’s uniqueness in service delivery is defined by our ongoing willingness to provide care to individuals with complex and profound disabilities, and those requiring specialized care.
